AB The present dissertation offers a diachronic view of translation throughout ages:from the Rosetta Stone up to now. We will talk about history, cultures, newtechnologies…, all of this from the translator’s point of view.Will one day the technology be able to surpass and substitute the humantranslator? This is the main question we want to answer, and show that the humanmachinecombination is the perfect mix for today’s ever-changing, multicultural andhypercommunicated society.
