From the early works of Alain Huetz de Lemps, Hugh Johnson and Tom Unwin, opens a new historiographic scene. This development runs along a road parallel to the development of the wine industry at the mercy of the new appreciation of wine as a sign of social distinction, cultural or regional diversity and the takeoff of the so-called designations of origin. Thus, from the Decade of the nineties a new path opens for historians of winemaking. His studies cater not only to the academic field, but also to the needs of industry, trade and marketing.As proof of the interest aroused by the issue, largely thanks to the historiographic progress, they will emerge at this time study groups as the Histovid, network Austral, Association land of Barros, University of Cádiz, the University of La Rioja and the University of Porto which alternate periodicals with meetings, symposiums and congresses in Europe and America. The University of Valladolid has not been oblivious to this growing interest, remember the works of Alain Huetz de Lemps, or those of Professor Jiménez among others. Similarly, official or private institutions and companies engaged in the sector have symbiotically collaborated on this task, getting an excellent marriage between culture and business. In the academic session that we celebrate in our Real Corporation shines the interdisciplinary collaboration of historians, winemakers, nutritionists, businessmen and professionals of the viticulture.
