AB This paper is based on the analysis of two translations, separated by almost three decades, of Henry David Thoreau´s Walden. In order to reach this goal, we have compared both translations and analysed the different translation procedures used in them, considering reference experts in translation such as Peter Newmark, J.J.Zaro and M.Truman. The goal of this dissertation is to achieve a precise and complete analysis which may help to understand the similarities, differences, virtues, and difficulties of translation through ages.
