Traditional extraction was useful for protein extraction from Isochrysis Iso-T (78.1±8.3%) and Arthrospira (Spirulina) sp. (68.6±6.0%) and resulted in the greatest yields. 2. HPP did not enhance protein extraction. 3. ACE-I inhibitory activities assayed in vitro were greater than 90% for all the algal proteins obtained using the traditional extraction method. A protein extracted using HPP from Nannochloropsis inhibited renin by 44.3±3.28% at 1 mg/ml compared to the control.
