AB The importance of correct tuning on congestion controllers in multi-router networks is studied here. More precisely, the effect of tuning is illustrated by using a simple two-router example, with the controller parameters selected using standard tuning rules for each router. The simulated results show how the performance would deteriorate in practice, due to the interaction between the routers and the inherent variabilities of the process. On the other hand, with the controller structured proposed by the authors robust stability and performance are obtained, even in the presence of wide variations in the network parameters.
