K1 Huesos - Fracturas - Tratamiento AB Pertrochanteric fractures are increasing andtheir operative treatment remains under discussion. Failuresneeding reoperations such as a cut-out are reported tobe high and are associated with multiple factors includingpoor bone quality, poor fracture reduction and improperimplant placement. The PFNA® with perforated bladeoffers an option for standardized cement augmentationwith a PMMA cement to provide more stability to thefracture fixation. It remains unclear if the augmentationof this implant does any harm in a longer time span. Thisprospective multicenter study shows clinical and radiologicalresults with this implant with a mean follow-up time of15 months.
