El artículo examina de que manera se llega hasta esa situación, la necesidad que hay para ello de que Yorick abandone su faceta de actor cómico y las razones que tiene Edmundo y Alicia para secundar en escena el cambio de teatro a vida que impone Yorick. Para estos aspectos se hace un paralelo entre Un drama nuevo, la opera I Pagliacci y la película 39 escalones de Alfred Hitchcok.
