T1 Quality of life and poverty: measurement and comparability

AB In this paper, we analyze the correspondence among the rankings of the Spanish regionsaccording to di_erent measures of monetary poverty and quality of life, in 2012. To dothat, the Spearman's rank correlation coe_cient is used. Di_erent aggregation methodsare applied to calculate the selected measures of poverty and quality of life. The monetarypoverty measures aggregate the income gaps, while the quality of life measures aggregatea set of social indicators dealing with ten di_erent domains. In both cases, among othertraditional aggregation procedures, the exponential mean is used because its propertiesare especially adequate in these contexts.
