AB The aim of this undergraduate dissertation is to analyze the presence of English works in the private libraries of Melchor Gaspar de Jovellanos, Benito Bails and Pedro Rodríguez de Campomanes. The backwardness of Spain compared to Europe was reflected in the society, the politics, and the culture of the country. Different events occurring between Spain and England affected the exchange and the free circulation of the literary works between both countries, the lack of English works in Spain could be justified and explained because of that. Nevertheless, English works can be found in these private libraries. A data-oriented analysis based on the inventories of these libraries, is going to show what works have been found, the topics, the authors and the language. In addition,
