<summary type="text">Athenaeus of Naucratis did not only transcribe skilfully and learnedly texts written by authors from previous days, but also had a wide knowledge of the literary tradition, which enabled him to create a structurally coherent work belonging to the symposiac genre. Within the work Deipnosophistai, book XIII is a good example of the grammarian's literary achievements. On women is not only a έρωτικός λόγος adapted to the literary demands of his time but also a real encyclopaedia of 'erotic' literature ranging from Homer to the Hellenistic period.

<summary type="text">This study about the adjectives of wetness-dryness in Theocritus tries to show how a late author like Theocritus gathers literary and scientific traditions before him as a doctus poet. The study reveals in which way sensitive processes have great importance in order to contrast perceptive schemes in any culture. Moreover, the paper tries to apply to the semantic studies on ancient Greek language the knowledge from Psychology and Knowledge Philosophy.

The purpose is to provide a detailed analysis of Andokides' arguments and to clarify some compositional aspects of his speech in relation to the contemporary symbouleutic oratory. In this way, we try to show a renewed view of an orator that ancient and modern scholars haven't held in high regard.

<summary type="text">So me variants are suggested for the reading and interpretation of an inscription found in 1976 in a Turkish village near the old place of Teos. They provide an improved intelligibility of the historical context of this document: in this very moment Teos is extending the access to citizenship, possibly to favour reconstruction after the city was destroyed by the Persians, and also trying to secure the ongoing social and political stability.

The policies of the Greek colony of Emporion towards the neighbouring indigenous populations, according notices by Strabo and the evidences of recent epigraphic and archaeological findings, are shown to be strongly parallel to those of Teos by this updated reading of the analysed Teos document.
