Para ello, se contó con un grupo de estudiantes de grado de una universidad española quienes, tras el visionado de una selección de videoclips de la versión doblada al inglés de la serie; This proposal focuses on the reverse translation (Spanish-English) of humour based on stereotypes and cultural references, starting from a review of the existing literature to design an empirical study within the framework of a long-term research project. For this purpose, a group of undergraduate students from a Spanish university were involved and, on viewing a selection of video clips from the English dubbed version of the series Valeria (Netflix, 2020), they answered questions about the global perception of humorous excerpts and the identification of cultural references, as well as their preferences in terms of applicable translation techniques for the reverse translation of cross-cultural humour. The results show a strong preference for the preservation of cultural elements. Igualmente, se explican las ventajas y desventajas del uso de estas técnicas de traducción y cómo han contribuido al enriquecimiento de la terminología médica árabe.; The aim of this article is to analyse the translation procedure types (calque and its types, borrowing, default equivalent and foreign words) of medical neologisms that characterise Arabic medical terminology. It also aims to demonstrate which of these types of procedures are most frequently used by Arabic lexicographers to create or translate medical-scientific neologisms. It will also explain the advantages and drawbacks of using these translation techniques and how they have contributed to the enrichment of Arabic medical terminology. De 1758 data la primera edición valenciana, basada muy probablemente en una edición gerundense de 1745. En la publicación valenciana, el original suplemento en catalán aparece substituido por una traducción literal al valenciano. Entre 1776 y 1820 el mismo librito conocerá una segunda edición valenciana. El suplemento ahora representa una traducción libre y abreviada, observándose un valenciano más popular. En los dos casos la comparación entre las versiones catalana y valenciana permite constatar las diferencias a la sazón existentes entre ambas lenguas.; The first known treatise on Spanish guitar dates, in its first edition, not preserved, from 1586 (Barcelona). The first Valencian edition dates from 1758 and, most likely, is based on a Girona edition of 1745. In the Valencian publication, the original supplement written in Catalan is replaced by a literal translation into Valencian. Between 1776 and 1820, this same small treatise saw a second Valencian edition. Here, the new supplement represented a free and abbreviated translation in a more vernacular version of Valencian. In both cases, the comparison between Catalan and Valencian versions allows the verification of the then existing differences between both languages. Mediante un análisis bibliométrico se comparan las publicaciones españolas e internacionales sobre el tema. El proceso consta de tres pasos: (1) identificación de publicaciones sobre el tema, (2) recopilación y gestión de dichas publicaciones, y (3) estudio de referencias bibliográficas. Se analiza el corpus desde distintos ángulos: contenido, formato, lengua, año, país, palabras clave, productividad de autores y universidades, redes de coautoría y correferencias. Los resultados muestran similitudes, como en la productividad de centros y autores, obras y autores más citados e intereses investigadores. Entre las principales diferencias, mientras que los autores españoles tienen más publicaciones en coautoría y sobre traducción, entre los internacionales hay más pares de lenguas estudiadas, más libros y tesis doctorales. Además, colaboran más con investigadores de otras universidades.; The aim of this paper is to map research on metaphor in business translation in Spain and examine whether it is ahead of or lagging behind such research in other countries. Following a bibliometric analysis, we compare publications on the topic by Spanish and international authors. There are three steps involved: (1) finding publications on metaphor in business translation, (2) compiling and managing those publications, and (3) studying their bibliographical references. We have analysed our corpus according to different bibliographic and content elements, such as format, language, year, country, keywords, author and university productivity, co-authorship networks, and bibliographic coupling. Results show similarities, such as centre and author productivity, the most cited works and authors, and research interests. Among the main differences found, Spanish authors have more co-authored publications and more publications on translation, while international authors study more language pairs, have written more books and PhD theses on the topic, and collaborate more with researchers from other universities. Los traductores no son los únicos agentes responsables del proceso traductor; distribuidoras, directores y estudios de doblaje son también claves en las traducciones finales. Sin embargo, el anonimato de los diferentes agentes involucrados es una realidad en la que aún hoy resulta difícil, en muchas ocasiones, saber quién ha hecho qué en la traducción de una película. Por ello, este estudio pretende reflexionar acerca del papel que juegan los diferentes agentes involucrados desde una perspectiva sociológica e interdisciplinar para así seguir profundizando en las complejas relaciones existentes en el proceso traductor de producciones audiovisuales en España.; The success of musical films that are watched by Spanish teenagers is not only based on the images or musical notes, but in the message they deliver. Translators are not the only agents in charge of the translation process; distributors, dubbing directors and studios are also key in rendering final translations. However, the anonymity of the different agents involved is a reality and still today, on many occasions, it is difficult to really know who did what in the translation of a film. For these reasons, this study aims to serve as a reflection about the role that specialized agents play from a sociological and interdisciplinary approach. Doing so, this research will shed some light on the understanding of the complex relations involved in the translation process of audiovisual productions in Spain. En total se han analizado 1436 términos culinarios y sus traducciones al inglés. Los resultados reflejan una tendencia a recurrir a soluciones de traducción orientadas hacia la cultura de partida, que además de vincular los textos meta con la cultura a la que están asociados los platos, puede hacerlos más atractivos para el público meta. Junto a esta tendencia, los traductores intentaron asegurarse de que las cartas en inglés fueran comprensibles e informativas. Se ha podido probar asimismo que la variable de especificidad cultural ha afectado a la elección de las soluciones de traducción.; The main objective of the present paper involves analysing the translation solutions adopted to render the names of dishes and drinks in a Spanish-English bilingual corpus of eighty restaurant menus from four localities of Malaga province. All in all, 1436 culinary terms and their English translations have been analysed. The results reflect a tendency to resort to translation solutions oriented towards the source culture, which apart from linking the target texts to the culture with which the dishes are associated, may make them more appealing to the target audience. Together with this tendency, translators tried to make sure that the English menus were understandable and informative. The culture-specificity variable has also been found to have an effect on the choice of translation solutions. Pretendemos realizar un análisis contrastivo entre dos poemas originales («Walizka» and «Ziemia») y sus traducciones al español y al gallego –de Xavier Farré y Bartosz Dondelewski y Lidia López Teixeiro, respectivamente– para determinar si la interpretación estimula el pensamiento creativo en los traductores, y si el impacto de la poesía en la creatividad varía según la obra que leemos y luego sometemos a negociaciones lingüísticas y estéticas. Debido al idioma del artículo, también utilizamos para nuestro estudio las traducciones al inglés de Clare Cavanagh. Como punto de partida tomamos la noción de «pensamiento lateral», propuesta por Edward de Bono y reconocida por Albrecht Neubert como muy útil en el proceso de descubrimiento de nuevas posibilidades en la traducción. Tal enfoque permitirá reconocer que el potencial recreativo puede revelarse tanto en una traducción literal como libre. También consideraremos si los versos polacos pueden formar parte de los contextos poéticos de destino con una expresividad análoga.; The purpose of the essay is to reflect on the role of creativity in the translation of Adam Zagajewski’s poetry. We intend to carry out a contrastive analysis between two original poems (“Walizka” and “Ziemia”) and their Spanish and Galician translations – by Xavier Farré and Bartosz Dondelewski and Lidia López Teixeiro, respectively – to determine whether the interpretation stimulates creative thinking in translators, and whether the impact of poetry on creativity varies according to the work we read and then subject to linguistic and aesthetic negotiations. Due to the language of the article, we also use English translations by Clare Cavanagh for our study. As a starting point we take the notion of “lateral thinking”, proposed by Edward de Bono and recognized by Albrecht Neubert as very useful in the process of discovering new possibilities in translation. This approach will make it possible to recognize that recreational potential can be revealed in both a literal and free translation. We will also consider whether the Polish lines can be a part of the target poetic contexts with an analogous expressiveness.
