<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/65567</link>

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/65566</link>
<description>La idea del establecimiento de la metodología BIM en Materia de Proyectos para &#13;
titulaciones de Grado de la Escuela de Ingenierías Industriales de la Universidad de &#13;
Valladolid (EII-UVa), surgió para llevar a cabo un proceso gradual mediante el cual se &#13;
fuera introduciendo al estudiante en el desarrollo proyectual configurado a través de este &#13;
nuevo sistema.  &#13;
Este trabajo trata de exponer la fase en la que se encuentra la EII-UVa respecto al &#13;
desarrollo de la metodología BIM una vez consolidada la línea de trabajo que se planteó &#13;
inicialmente durante los dos últimos cursos. Nuestros recientes avances en el proceso &#13;
de implantación se han basado en el modelado y cálculo de Instalaciones (MEP) y de &#13;
estructuras, mediante la interoperabilidad entre programas a través de estándares de &#13;
intercambio de archivos.  &#13;
Igualmente se ha constatado la necesidad de desarrollar habilidades demandadas por &#13;
el mercado laboral actual como son la coordinación, liderazgo-dirección y negociación. &#13;
Por ello, manteniendo el planteamiento y filosofía seguidos para la asimilación y &#13;
aprendizaje de la materia de Proyectos basado en el trabajo en equipo, en una nueva &#13;
etapa se pondrá especial interés en una de las características esenciales de la &#13;
metodología BIM, que es el trabajo colaborativo y de coordinación. &#13;
Palabras clave: BIM; docencia; proyectos; instalaciones (MEP); estructuras; trabajo &#13;
colaborativo

<title>-	Implementation of BIM in the subject Technical Industrial Projects – Degree in Industrial Technologies Engineering - University of Valladolid.</title>
<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64928</link>
<description>This study attempts to illustrate the current situation in the Industrial Engineering School in Valladolid regarding the development and management of engineering projects using the BIM (Building Information Modelling) methodology. It is widely accepted that the evolution of information modelling (BIM) is affecting the role of professionals in projects and in the management of the project life cycle. It is starting to become clear within the university environment, that the information modelling of BIM technology must become part of the education of future engineers. It uses integrated project delivery to respond to the professional demand that requires the development of skills in the educational practices to tackle the problems and limitations arising in the new practices. The BIM methodology covers everything from the project stage to asset management. The proposal of its inclusion in the Industrial Engineering School Degree qualifications came about in order to stagger the introduction of the student into the project process set up through this “new philosophy”.

<title>Bartolomé Sureda: Mechanic, Inventor and Artist. A Character of Enlightened Knowledge</title>
<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64927</link>
<description>The main objective of this work is to present the figure of Bartolomé Sureda y Miserol (1769–1851), a mechanic, inventor and illustrated artist, in relation to his contribution to scientific progress. The next goal is to demonstrate the extent to which graphic representation techniques were decisive during the aforementioned process, techniques that the enlightened scientists of Spain, the so-called “experimental natural philosophers” among whom was Sureda, used masterfully to develop their plans and drawings of machines. The scientists of Las Luces constituted a circle of technology professionals whose training came from various fields: artistic, analytical and technical. In the absence of specific educational centres, academies were created during the 18th century that were conceived to promote knowledge and were born from private gatherings. Bartolomé Sureda was trained in these centres and took an interest in both technique and art, and although he applied great geometric rigour in the representation of machines, his artistic will was never absent.

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64926</link>
<description>This study represents a step forward in a teaching innovation initiative, carried out by the team &#13;
author of this proposal, in some Project subjects at the School of Industrial Engineering (EII) of &#13;
the University of Valladolid (UVa) in which design in the field of the circular economy has been &#13;
established as a work philosophy. In this case, the experience focuses on the master’s degree in &#13;
Industrial Design Engineering recently introduced at the EII. This new teaching proposal has a &#13;
double academic aspect. On the one hand, it aims to consolidate the application of sustainable &#13;
industrial design criteria and, on the other hand, to promote the need to protect ideas, &#13;
inventions, with an orientation towards the labour market to achieve results that can be offered &#13;
to solve social needs. This initiative will represent an important leap forward in the deepening &#13;
of the concepts of eco-design and eco-innovation and in the search for the singularities of the &#13;
designs that germinate in our classroom, with the aim of achieving real and objective protection &#13;
of ideas through industrial property figures. Both actions together will facilitate, in a holistic way, &#13;
the conception and protection of an own identity in the possible perspective of business &#13;
entrepreneurship

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64925</link>
<description>This study is part of one line of teaching and research carried out in Project subjects of the&#13;
School of Industrial Engineering of the University of Valladolid. The starting point is the&#13;
contribution of engineering to the circular economy, understood as a concept related to&#13;
sustainability with the aim of maintaining the value of products, materials, and natural&#13;
resources as long as possible, minimising waste generation. In our case, the main objective of&#13;
the work is obtaining more durable products, which can be repaired, reused, or recycled, as it&#13;
is established in the European Green Deal. To reach this goal, collaborative projects have&#13;
been carried out for "small household appliances" whose typology is present in Annex II of RD&#13;
110/2015, of 20 February, on waste electrical and electronic equipment. The specific&#13;
objectives of this initiative have been encouraging students, future engineers, to design&#13;
sustainable products, as well as to analyze and to put into practice new manufacturing&#13;
processes based on the circular economy.

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64924</link>
<description>According to the National Plan for Industrial Heritage, “movable and immovable property and &#13;
social systems related to the culture of work, must be understood as a whole composed by the &#13;
landscape in which they are integrated, the industrial relations in which they are structured, the &#13;
architectures that characterize them, the techniques used in their procedures, the files &#13;
generated during their activity and their symbolic practices”. In many cases, machinery of the &#13;
manufacturing processes subsists in the industrial building. Other times, due to the &#13;
independent nature of movable property, they acquire a particular obsolescence and fragility.&#13;
Our case study is one of the original ""artifacts"" of the Industrial Heritage of Castilla y León, &#13;
specifically, the mallet of the first lock of the Canal de Castilla, ""the mallet of Alar del Rey"". In &#13;
order to recognize and dignify both, the industrial building and its integrated movable &#13;
properties, it has been necessary to analyze the machinery of similar industries to formulate &#13;
hypotheses about its form and function. Likewise, to proceed with the analysis and graphic &#13;
reconstruction, it has been essential the help of graphic and written documents.

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64923</link>
<description>This work is part of one line of teaching and research about the BIM methodology carried out in Project subjects of the School of Industrial Engineering of the University of Valladolid. One of the objectives of this new stage, which is part of an educational innovation project, is that students know and participate in a real process of execution of industrial projects through the real collaboration between the academic and business environment. However, the main objective is for the student to understand industrial construction as a sustainable fact based on ethical principles, social equity and environmental awareness, applying the principles of ecological quality and energy saving. In order to achieve this objective, the aesthetic aspects of the engineering project will be considered, both in terms of their contribution to the creation of the industrial landscape that surrounds us, and relating to the experience of the people who work daily in that space. Always with the aim of achieving the highest learning results.

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64922</link>
<description>This essay is part of a process of implementation of the BIM methodology in the Industrial Engineering School of the University of Valladolid, carried out by the teaching team who is author of this proposal. The aim of this work, which constitutes a Teaching Innovation Project, is to achieve a shared, collaborative and group process to do an End of Degree Project, within a BIM environment. This case study focuses on the intervention on an existing industrial complex, the Flour Factory "La Julita" located on the shores of the Pisuerga river, in the village of Simancas in Valladolid. The complex, which dates back to 1865, is made up of a main building -the factory itself, which has four floors and the basement- and two auxiliary buildings, but the intervention only affects the main building. The work follows the European and national guidelines for its preservation and includes a proposal to turn the building into a research centre. A team of students from different degrees of the Industrial Engineering School has participated in the implementation of the experience.

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64921</link>
<description>The multidisciplinary nature of current projects has generated both in professional and educational environments a need for collaborative work, requiring project teams to develop some specific documents to achieve a successful implementation of BIM. Among them, we will highlight the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), through which all the team members previously know the responsibilities associated with the implementation of BIM in the project workflow. This document presents a methodology for the elaboration of a PEB composed by stages that can be summarized as follows: identification of the goals and uses of BIM, designing of the BIM implementation process, definition of delivering models and, finally, identification of the necessary infrastructure. The base of the process will be a VBA software with a template that will include all the information needed for the PEB creation. Then, it will be automated using proprietary software tasks and data validation. All final documents have been adapted to the PAS Standard Recommendations 1192_2_2013 of the British-Standards-Institution.

<title>José Ruiz-Castizo (1857–1929)</title>
<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64664</link>
<description>This paper tries to analyse the figure of the mathematician, physicist, and&#13;
inventor José Ruiz-Castizo y Ariza (1857–1929), Professor of Rational Mechanics at&#13;
the University of Zaragoza and Professor of Exact Sciences at the Central University&#13;
of Madrid. Throughout a life dedicated to science, he carried out numerous jobs&#13;
in his role as a teacher and researcher. Many of them, including his “Treatise on&#13;
Rational Mechanics”, were published in monographs and scientific journals of the&#13;
time. However, the main objective of this article is to present José Ruíz-Castizo not&#13;
only through his academic activity but also as an inventor of scientific instruments.&#13;
For this, we will focus on one of his main inventions, specifically the “Tangential&#13;
evaluation Cartesian planimeter” designed by him from other existing planimeters.&#13;
From this instrument designed to measure the area of any plane figure, rectilinear,&#13;
curvilinear or mixtilinear, as well as other applications derived from the previous&#13;
one, he patented and materialised a new proposal based on his previous work on the&#13;
theory of curves.

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64649</link>
<description>El presente estudio constituye una muestra de un conjunto de actividades desarrolladas con fines docentes, basadas en una línea de investigación en curso que versa sobre las formas geométricas puras y su interés en el campo del diseño.&#13;
&#13;

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64644</link>
<description>Al contrario de lo que en un principio pudiera parecer, resulta poco probable reconocer, a primera vista, con exactitud, la técnica con la que ha sido elaborada una&#13;
determinada imagen impresa y, en el caso de que así fuera, el nombrarla adecuadamente. Durante la consulta de manuales y textos sobre la historia de la estampa, sus&#13;
diferentes tipos y sus diferentes acepciones, se encuentra más de una ambigüedad&#13;
al respecto. Se pretende por tanto, en este trabajo, traer a la memoria la relevante&#13;
presencia de la estampa en la historia de la técnica recapitulando, mediante una&#13;
exposición ordenada, los procedimientos más utilizados en los siglos xv al xix, sin&#13;
entrar en detalles excesivamente minuciosos pues sería objeto de un estudio más&#13;
amplio, y presentar muestras de su aplicación a la divulgación tecnológica durante&#13;

<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64642</link>

<title>Study of an “Artefact” of the Castilla Canal: Reconstruction of the Missing Machinery</title>
<link>https://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/64631</link>
<description>This work aims to apply a systematic methodology to the analysis and graphical recovery of the “artefact” of the first lock of the Canal de Castilla (“the forge of Alar del Rey”) located in the Canal de Castilla as it passes through the province of Palencia (Spain). The canal, a great engineering work that began in the 18th century, was declared an asset of cultural interest (BIC, for its acronym in Spanish) in 1991 and was included in the National Plan for Industrial Heritage. To analyze and to obtain graphic reconstruction proposals, six main activities were developed, following three phases (study of primary and complementary technological and historical sources, fieldwork, and digital reconstruction). The reconstruction proposals were evaluated using three criteria: artefact data, the number of similar artefacts, and the performance. The weights of these three criteria were obtained using the Best-Worst Method (BWM), and the reconstruction proposals were classified using the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) under uncertain conditions. AutoCAD was used to obtain detailed artefact geometric documentation (plans and detail drawings of each element). The work carried out on the artefact has allowed the reconstruction of the missing machinery and its factory, establishing a proposal consistent with the technological solutions of the end of the eighteenth century as well as with the ironworks studied and with the documentary sources consulted, recovering the memory of an artefact that is about to be lost.
