Vidrieras de la Catedral de León

Abstract

Con este proyecto pretendo dar a conocer la importancia de la vidriera histórica en la Catedral de León. Para ello he comenzado con una introducción al tema en cuestión donde explico el significado de lo que es una vidriera, la técnica y la historia arquitectónica de la Catedral desde el siglo XIII hasta la creación de la catedral Gótica. A continuación elaboro el tema del proyecto: El estudio iconográfico de las vidrieras de la catedral de León, comenzando desde su división a lo largo de los siglos, los maestros vidrieros, el estudio de la iconografía individual de cada vidrio y por ultimo las restauraciones que han llevado al conjunto a su estado actual.

With this project I have tried to show the importance of the historical windows in Leon's Cathedral. I have begun with an introduction to the topic where I explain what a window is, the technology and the architectural history of the Cathedral from the 13th century up to the creation of the Gothic Cathedral. After that, I have elaborated the topic of the project: The iconographic study of the windows of León's cathedral, beginning with its division throughout the centuries, the main glaziers, the study of the individual iconography of every glass and finally the restorations that have led the set to its current condition.
