En este artículo analizamos las características y los objetivos de la política cultural de España con relación a la República Federal de Alemania entre 1956 y 1966. Tomamos como modelo la actuación del Instituto de España en Munich porque esta institución constituyó entre 1956 y 1966 uno de los principales ejes de las relaciones culturales bilaterales. Estudiamos los orígenes e historia de este Instituto, sus dirigentes, sus actividades y su incidencia en Alemania y España, sus vínculos con diferentes instancias culturales, políticas y estatales, así como la evolución de sus estrategias y objetivos en el transcurso de estos años claves en la evolución internacional de ambos países.
In this article we analyze the characteristics and aims of Spanish cultural policy in relation to the Federal German Republic between 1956 and 1966. We take as a model the Spanish Institute in Munich. Between 1956 and 1966 this institution was one of the main axes of the cultural relations between both countries. We analyze the origins and history of the Spanish Institute: its directors, its activities and its impact on the Federal German Republic and Spain, its links with different cultural, politic and official institutions, and the evolution of its strategies and objectives in the course of these important years in the international evolution of both countries.
