Atractivo historiográfico de las postrimerías: Repertorio bibliográfico en el Antiguo Régimen

Abstract

Este artículo constituye una muestra exhaustiva de la amplísima literatura existente sobre el tema religioso de las postrimerías del hombre. La ingente cantidad de obras manuscritas y publicadas en toda Europa durante los siglos XVI-XIX, muchas conservadas en la Biblioteca Vaticana, ofrecen un completo muestrario de las concepciones menales, los intereses de salvación, las visiones de los espacios ultraterrenos y las "ayudas" para "Bien Morir" vigentes en el Antiguo Régimen.

This is an exhaustive collection of the extensive extant literature about the religious subject of man's final stages. The enormous quantity of manuscript works published in Europe from the 16th to the 19th century, a lot of them preserved in the Vatican Library, offer a wide range of mental conceptions, interests in salvation, visions of the next world, and the "aids" to "die properly" prevailing in the Ancien Regime.
