Galician socialism now reaches, for the first time, an important degree of development which will enable it to play an important role in the politcs of the moment. Its action aims at the democratization of the galician Restoriation society, specially in its fight against the local despotism, and in trying to improve the living conditions of the working classes throughout the promulgation of social laws. In 1934 a radical stream within its bosom is clearly evident but, after the defeat of the October revolutionary strike, reformism and moderation once again will be the dominant feature due to the passivity of the agrarian and traditional Galicia of the 30's.
El socialismo gallego alcanza ahora por vez primera un grado importante de desarrollo que le va a permitir jugar un papel en la política de la época. Su acción se centra en la democratización de la sociedad gallega de la Restauración, fundamentalmente en la lucha contra el caciquismo, y en procurar mediante leyes sociales una mejora de las condiciones de vida de los trabajadores. En 1934 es patente una corriente radical en su seno, pero fracasada la huelga revolucionaria de Octubre, de nuevo el reformismo y la moderación será la nota característica dada la inercia de la Galicia agrariotradicional de los años 30.
