Las empresas ferroviarias y la empresa moderna: La Compañía de los Ferrocarriles del Norte de España

Abstract

En este trabajo se analizan diversos aspectos de la Compañía de los Caminos de Hierro del Norte de España, protagonista en la construcción y gestión del ferrocarril en España. La andadura comenzará por un paseo por la historia de Norte, presentando a una de las compañías más importantes en España en lo que al ferrocarril se refiere. A continuación, habrá que retroceder sobre los pasos andados para sumergirse en dos análisis: uno a nivel económico, donde se verán los resultados de la compañía junto con su estructura de ingresos y gastos; y otro a nivel accionarial, detallando la evolución de la propiedad de Norte con el paso de los años y los acontecimientos. Seguidamente, se llevará a cabo otro análisis adicional, que expondrá las estructuras organizativas que formaron la base de la gestión de la compañía y su transformación con el paso del tiempo y el aumento del tamaño de la misma. Para finalizar el camino, se concluirá relacionando los tres análisis mencionados

In this work, I have analyzed various aspects of the Company of the Iron Ways of the North of Spain, which was the lead in the construction and management of the railway in Spain. The journey will start for a walk through the history of North, introducing one of the most important in what refers to rail companies in Spain. Then we will have to go back the steps walked to dive into two analyzes: one economic level, where we can see the results of the company with its structure of income and expenses; and another shareholder level, detailing the evolution of North property over the years and events. Next, it will take place a further analysis setting out the organizational structures that formed the basis of the management of the company and its transformation over time and increasing the size of it. To end the way, it will conclude by relating the three analysis previously mentioned.
