Abstract

La figura del gladiador es una de las más estudiadas debido a lo llamativo de ésta, considerados como los guerreros más destacables de la antigua cultura romana, luchaban para disfrute del público en encarnizados enfrentamientos en los que la sangre era su mayor atractivo. El desarrollo de estos personajes es un tanto complejo debido a que existían varias vías para acceder a la gladiatura y el transcurso de los combates no era tan sencillo como parece, habiendo numerosos condicionantes durante las luchas. Por ello aquí se pretende dar respuesta a todas las preguntas que rodean al mundo de los gladiadores.

The gladiator’s figure is one of the most studied due to its appeal. They were considered as the most noted warriors of the Ancient Rome and they fought in order to please the audience, performing fierce confrontations where blood was the main attraction. The development of these figures is certanly complex because there were different ways of becoming a gladiator, and fights weren’t as easy as they could seem due to the numerous determinants of the battles. Because of that, this essay pretends to give a response to all the questions related to the gladiator’s world.
