La representación de la realidad del consumo de drogas en el cine

Abstract

Pese a que la sociedad estima que las drogas son perjudiciales, existe un desconocimiento generalizado sobre su consumo y los efectos que provoca. El Séptimo arte puede ayudar a combatir dicha ingenuidad y facilitar su comprensión, ya sea con una mera representación de esta realidad o manipulándola, convirtiéndose en una enorme ventana a los recovecos que esconden las adicciones. Tomamos como base un marco teórico que estudia las drogas y su impacto en la sociedad, los procesos de significación en el cine, y las relaciones que el Séptimo arte establece con la realidad; y que da paso a un análisis de contenido apoyado en tres filmes con marcadas diferencias estilísticas -documental, clásico y manierista-, que nos permitirá comprobar si un medio como el cine, con las posibilidades que ofrece su puesta en escena, puede plasmar el consumo de estupefacientes. En consecuencia esta investigación tiene como propósito aportar a la comunidad científica un estudio acerca de la capacidad del Séptimo arte para representar esta realidad.

While the society estimates that drugs are harmful, there is a widespread ignorance of their consumption and the effects caused by them. The Seventh art can contribute to fight such naivety and facilitate its understanding, either with a mere representation of this reality, or manipulating it, turning it into a huge window to the recesses that hide addictions. We take as a basic theoretical framework that studies drugs and its impact on society, the processes of signification in the cinema and relationships the Seventh art establishes with the reality, and that gives way to a content analysis on three films with marked stylistic differences -documentary, classical and mannerist- that will allow us to check if means like cinema with the possibilities offered by its staging, you can capture the consumption of narcotics. As a result, this research aims to contribute to the scientific community a study about the ability of the Seventh art to represent that reality.
