Resumen
The traditional housing in Sudan is built by earthen walls and flat deck of palm wood and a interlacing of reeds on which is executed a finish of earth and clay. The typological and constructive aspects of this type of housing, which continues to be built as it was centuries ago, but which is now threatened by the influence of new materials and foreign typologies, were exposed and developed in the presentation. Housing typologies observed in different settlements along the Nile have been studied. The different typologies respond to a very characteristic grouping model formed by a series of rectangular or square modules that are attached and conform the different rooms of the house. They are built exempt, on a single floor, separated from the boundary walls of the property so that they can grow as the family grows adding new modules to those already built.
