Theoretical absorption oscillator strengths for rotational lines of the¢S+c441u()–S+X1g(0–7)bands of N2, which arerelevant to analyze the spectra of the atmospheres of the Earth, Titan, and Mars, are reported. The knowninteraction between the¢S+c441u()andP+c431u()Rydberg states and the¢S+b131u()valence state has been dealtwith through an appropriate rovibronic energy matrix. Deviations in the intensity distribution of the rotational linesfrom considerations based on Hönl–London factors have been found for each of the studied bands. Emissionbranching ratios for the above bands and lifetimes of the rotational levels of v=4 level of the c4´1u+ state are also reportedes
