La arquitectura de los increíbles

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza, desde el punto de vista arquitectónico, las películas Los Increíbles (2004) y Los Increíbles 2 (2018). Dichos largometrajes se han convertido en uno de los mayores referentes del cine de animación, porque, entre otros motivos, Pixar creó en ellas el mundo virtual más extenso que jamás se había realizado. Las cintas nos presentan un universo inédito, ambientado en la década de 1950 y 1960 con un toque futurista, que lo hacen único. Este mundo se construye gracias al imprescindible recurso de la arquitectura, que permite al espectador sumergirse en una nueva realidad caracterizada por un magnífico cuidado por el detalle que la hace verosímil. Todo ello ha conseguido que Los Increíbles sea uno de los mejores ejemplos de arquitectura moderna de todo el cine de animación.

This thesis analyzes, from an architectural point of view, the movies The Incredibles (2004) and The Incredibles 2 (2018). These feature films have become one of the greatest references in animation cinema, because, among other reasons, Pixar created in them the largest virtual world it had ever made. The movies present us with a new universe, set in the 1950s and 1960s with a futuristic touch, which makes it unique. This world is built thanks to the indispensable resource of architecture, which allows viewers to immerse themselves in a new reality characterized by a magnificent care for detail, making it believable. All this has made The Incredibles one of the best examples of modern architecture in all of animated cinema.
