Recualificación arquitectónica del patrimonio industrial. La Electra popular vallisoletana

Abstract

En las últimas décadas ha ido consolidándose la actuación en entornos industriales abandonados como buen ejemplo de arquitectura sostenible, por reutilizar antiguos edificios con características singulares para acoger nuevos usos. La concienciación sobre este tema cala progresivamente en los profesionales gracias a un aumento del número de publicaciones y jornadas divulgativas sobre él. Aún existen en nuestras ciudades ejemplos sin recuperar, a los que el paso del tiempo está afectando en mayor o menor medida, y es nuestra obligación preocuparnos por reconocer el valor que tienen y actuar sensiblemente sobre ellos, sin mermar su importancia histórica, social y arquitectónica, apreciable en su tipología y estilo. Uno de estos ejemplos es el edificio de la Electra Popular Vallisoletana, que será el caso de estudio principal de este trabajo. Existen numerosos referentes de intervenciones de este tipo, en los que los arquitectos han aplicado distintas estrategias de relación de lo nuevo con lo antiguo, tras estudiar en profundidad cada caso en concreto para, precisamente, evitar perjudicar a esos restos. Debemos conocer estos ejemplos y estrategias -son muchos, aunque en este trabajo se citen solo algunos de los más cercanos- para poder reflexionar previamente a plantear actuaciones sobre el Patrimonio.

In recent decades, action in abandoned industrial environments has been consolidated as a good example of sustainable architecture by reusing old buildings with unique features to host new uses. Awareness of this topic gradually takes place among professionals thanks to an increase in the number of publications and conferences on it. There are still unrecovered examples in our cities, which the passage of time is affecting to a greater or lesser extent, and it i sour obligation to worry about recognising the value they have and acting responsibly on them, without damaging their historical, social and architectural importance, appreciable in their typology and style. One of these examples is the building of the Electra Popular Vallisoletana, which will be the main case study of this work. There are numerous references of interventions of this type, in which architects have applied different strategies of relationship between the now and the old, after studying in depth each specific case in order to avoid harming these remains. We must know these examples and strategies -there are many, although only a few of the closest ones are cited in this workin order to be able to reflect before proposing actions on Heritage.
