Diversxs contra el odio. Proyecto de lucha contra el racismo y fomento de la diversidad cultural en el entorno universitario

Abstract

Durante los últimos años se ha producido un aumento considerable de las conductas racistas y xenófobas hacia las personas migrantes. La mayoría de las personas migrantes cuando llegan al país de acogida, no solo deben enfrentarse a la difícil realidad económica sino, también, al rechazo por parte de ciertos sectores de la sociedad española. Se trata de un problema grave en el que debe implicarse toda la sociedad, y uno de los pilares básicos para combatir el racismo es la educación, basada en la diversidad cultural y el enriquecimiento mutuo. El objetivo de este proyecto es disminuir las conductas racistas y los discursos de odio entre la comunidad universitaria de la Facultad de Educación y Trabajo Social. Para ello se trabajarán las áreas de información, formación, habilidades sociales, y sensibilización social, con el fin de prevenir, frenar y eliminar los estereotipos y estigmas asociados al colectivo inmigrante, dando lugar a la creación de un espacio intercultural de respeto mutuo.

In recent years, there has been a considerable increase in racist and xenophobic behavior towards migrants. Upon arrival in the host country, migrants must not only face the difficult economic reality but also the rejection by certain sectors of Spanish society. It is a serious problem in which the whole of society must be involved, and one of the basic pillars to combat it is education, based on cultural diversity and enrichment. The objective of this project is to reduce racist behavior and hate speech among the university community of the Faculty of Education and Social Work. The areas of information, training, social skills and social awareness will be worked on, in order to prevent, stop and eliminate the stereotypes and stigmas associated with the immigrant community, through the creation of an intercultural space of mutual respect.
