La perpetuación del patronazgo a través de las constituciones del Real Colegio de Santa Isabel de Marchena

Abstract

Las constituciones del Real Colegio de Niñas Huérfanas de Santa Isabel de Marchena son expresión de la voluntad fundacional de los duques de Arcos, quienes restituyeron el beaterio de la calle Santa Clara en el Colegio de la Encarnación. La conservación documental, la relación de intereses entre los grupos sociales interventores y el modo de vida que prescriben son aspectos fundamentales en la reconstrucción del diálogo entre las autoridades y el pueblo llano. La preeminencia del documento, basada en su funcionalidad, la amplitud cronológica (1690-1780) y la diversidad temática de su contenido, se acrecienta con el análisis exhaustivo que ha permitido la base de datos creada para ello.

The constitutions of the Royal College of Santa Isabel in Marchena are expression of the foundational will of the dukes of Arcos, who restored the beguinage of the street of Santa Clara in the College of the Incarnation. The documentary preservation, the relation of interests between the intervening social groups and the lifestyle that prescribe are fundamental aspects in the reconstruction of the dialogue between the authorities and the underclass. The preeminence of the document, based on its functionality, the chronological range (1690 - 1780) and thematic diversity of its content, increases with the exhaustive analysis that the database created for it has allowed.
