Análisis sobre el origen y evolución de las fiestas de San Pedro Manrique

Abstract

Durante un largo periodo de tiempo, numerosos autores han intentado explicar el origen y el significado de las fiestas de San Pedro Manrique. Sin embargo, desde hace unas décadas se han estancado y únicamente se han dedicado a describir los acontecimientos. El objetivo de mi estudio es tratar de ver por qué se han rechazado tantas teorías e intentar averiguar cuál es el origen más probable. Mi trabajo está dividido en dos grandes núcleos: el origen y la evolución de los ritos de San Pedro Manrique. Para responder a la preguntas de la investigación he hecho una comparación de todos los testimonios y he intentado sacar unas conclusiones finales que puedan dar una respuesta más fiable a estas incógnitas.

Throughout a long period of time, several authors have tried to explain the origins and the meaning of the San Pedro Manrique festivities. However, in the last few decades these investigations have been stagnated and the investigators only describe the events. The aim of my study is to try to find out why so many theories have been rejected and guess the most probable origin. My work is divided in two big parts: the origin and the evolution of the San Pedro Manrique rites. In order to answer the investigation questions I have compared all the testimonies and I have tried to reach some final conclusions that give us more reliable answers to these questions.
