El esclavo por naturaleza

Abstract

El objetivo de este Trabajo de Fin de Grado ha sido contribuir en cierta medida al esclarecimiento y conocimiento del concepto de esclavo por naturaleza. Debemos tener en cuenta que ese concepto estuvo en desuso en la teoría medieval hasta finales del siglo XV y que, reaparece durante el primer cuatro del siglo XVI. Por lo tanto, en este trabajo, no solo hablaremos del significado, alcance y contenido de este concepto, sino que desarrollaremos con claridad y precisión su procedimiento de relativización. Partiendo de la teoría aristotélica y, pasando por las diferentes opiniones de autores tan importantes como Francisco Vitoria (el procedimiento de relativización del concepto de esclavo por naturaleza no se culmina), Juan Ginés de Sepúlveda (solo en este autor se supera la categoría aristotélica y se perfecciona el concepto de esclavo por naturaleza) y Bartolomé de Las Casas (se entiende que el concepto de esclavo por naturaleza es marginal), entre otros. A modo de conclusión, hablaré de su importancia actual.

The objective of this end-of-degree project has been to contribute to a certain extent to the clarification and knowledge of the concept of slave by nature. We must bear in mind that this concept was obsolete in medieval theory until the end of the 15th century and that it reappeared during the first four of the 16th century. Therefore, in this work, we will not only talk about the meaning, scope and content of this concept, but we will also clearly and precisely develop its relativization procedure. Starting from the Aristotelian theory and going through the different opinions of authors as importante as Francisco Vitoria (the process of relativization of the concept of slave by nature isn`t completed), Juan Ginés de Sepúlveda (only in this author the Aristotelian category is overcome and the concept of salve by nature is perfected) and Bartolomé de Las Casas (it is understood that the concept of slave by nature is marginal), among others. By way of conclusion, I will talk about its current importance.
