Casas de muñecas: entre la maqueta y el juguete

Abstract

Las casas de muñecas son objetos de gran interés arquitectónico, ya que estas miniaturas desde sus inicios han reproducido el espacio doméstico a una escala reducida. Su estudio se puede plantear desde diversas perspectivas; así que se busca aquí entender qué factores condicionan las distintas formalizaciones que puede adoptar la casa de muñecas. Además, la manera de concebir estos artefactos condiciona sus similitudes y diferencias con la maqueta y con el concepto de juguete. Este trabajo se aborda mediante un estudio teórico de la temática, seguido por un análisis de una serie de casos. Sus distintas variables, como su uso o mecanismos, posibilitarán en última instancia definir diversas tipologías de casas de muñecas. En definitiva, este trabajo permitirá enfocar estas miniaturas desde una perspectiva arquitectónica, consiguiendo así llegar a un mejor entendimiento de su evolución hasta convertirse en el juguete que conocemos hoy en día.

Doll’s houses are objects with a great architectural interest, since their inception these miniatures have reproduced domestic spaces in a reduced scale. Their study can be approached from different perspectives; we seek to understand which aspects determine the different formalizations that doll’s houses can adopt. Furthermore, the way these artefacts are conceived determine the similarities and differences with architectural models and with toys. This study is tackled firstly through a theoretical study of the subject, followed by a case study of different examples. Its different variants, such as use or mechanisms, will ultimately allow the definition of various types of doll’s houses. Ultimately, this work will allow us to approach these miniatures from an architectural perspective, thus achieving a better understanding of their evolution until they become the toy we know nowadays.
