Reportaje multimedia. El debate social en torno a la violencia obstétrica

Abstract

La violencia obstétrica, definida como un conjunto de prácticas y conductas realizadas por profesionales de la salud a las mujeres durante el embarazo, el parto y el puerperio, que por acción u omisión son violentas o pueden ser percibidas como violentas, ha generado un debate tanto profesional como social en los últimos años. La propuesta del Ministerio de Igualdad de incluir la violencia obstétrica dentro de la reforma de la Ley de salud reproductiva y sexual (2010) propició la aparición de diferentes comunicados de ginecólogos y matronas, que se posicionaban en contra y a favor respectivamente. Para conocer la realidad de la violencia obstétrica, se presenta este Trabajo de Fin de Grado en formato de reportaje multimedia con el objetivo de acercar este término a los lectores, así como los diferentes puntos de vista que suscita. Para ello, se usa una metodología de revisión bibliográfica, entrevistas e historias de vida. De este modo, se logra el testimonio de una experta en la investigación de la violencia obstétrica, dos ginecólogas con visiones enfrentadas, una matrona y una madre que sufrió este tipo de violencia en su primer parto. Todo ello da como resultado un reportaje multimedia que, a través de una narrativa con vídeos, audios y visualizaciones interactivas, consigue reflejar la realidad de una violencia que está extendida e invisibilizada.

Obstetric violence, defined as a set of practices and behaviors carried out by health professionals on women during pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium, which by action or omission are violent or may be perceived as violent, has generated a debate both professional and social in recent years. The proposal of the Ministry of Equality to include obstetric violence within the reform of the reproductive and sexual health law led to the appearance of different communiqués from gynecologists and midwives, who positioned themselves against and in favor, respectively. In order to learn about the reality of obstetric violence, this Final Degree Project is presented in a multimedia report format with the aim of bringing readers closer to this term, as well as the different points of view it raises. To achieve this, a methodology of bibliographic review, interviews and life stories is used. In this way, the testimony of an expert in the investigation of obstetric violence, two gynecologists with conflicting views, a midwife and a mother who suffered this type of violence in her first childbirth is obtained. All this results in a multimedia report that, through a narrative with videos, audios and interactive visualizations, manages to reflect the reality of violence that is widespread and invisible.
