Las colonizaciones helenísticas. Griegos en el Imperio Seleúcida y el Egipto Ptolemaico (s. III-II a.C.)

Abstract

Los movimientos de población helena que se dan durante los siglos III y II a.C. en el Oriente Próximo serían una de las máximas expresiones del periodo helenístico. Decenas si no cientos de miles de griegos se aventuraron a poblar los nuevos reinos de los Diádocos. En el presente trabajo, intentaré dar respuesta a alumnos de los interrogantes que pueden surgir en torno al fenómeno. Cómo se realizó, qué utilidad tuvo para aquellos en el poder, el impacto dentro de la estructura de los nuevos reinos, la reacción de la población nativa y las diferencias de este proceso entre los dos reinos helenísticos más importantes, el Imperio Seléucida y el Egipto Ptolemaico serán los principales enfoques del trabajo.

The movement of hellenic population that occurs during the III and II centuries BC in the Near East was one of the key factor of the Hellenistic Period. Tens if not hundreds of greeks settled in the new Diadochoi´s kingdoms In this paper, i will try to answer some of the questions that raises from this topic. How was it done, what utility see those in power in the colonization, the impact of the process in the creation and consolidation of the new kingdoms, the natives´ reaction and the difference in the colonizaion process between Seleukid Empire and Ptolomeaic Egypt, all of these, will be the focus of the paper.
