La comunidad clarisa de Zamora se fundó en el siglo
XIII, siendo una de las más antiguas de la ciudad.
Después de residir en dos conventos, se trasladaron
a finales del siglo XVI al antiguo cenobio benedictino
de San Miguel, rebautizado como de Santa Clara.
Residieron allí hasta que en 1951 se derribó el
edificio, trasladándose definitivamente a su casa
actual en el barrio de las Viñas.
Este trabajo pretende analizar las distintas partes de
la capilla conventual de aquel complejo monástico
situado en el corazón de la ciudad. Se persigue
restituir virtualmente las piezas que la compusieron,
muchas de ellas conservadas en el nuevo convento,
para recrear lo que pudo haber sido ese espacio
arquitectónico desaparecido.
The Poor Clare community of Zamora was founded
in the 13th century, being one of the oldest in the
city. After residing in two convents, they moved at
the end of the 16th century to the old Benedictine
monastery of San Miguel, renamed Santa Clara. They
lived there until the building was demolished in
1951, moving permanently to their current home in
the Las Viñas neighborhood.
This work aims to analyze the different parts of the
convent chapel of that monastic complex located in
the heart of the city. The aim is to virtually restore
the pieces that composed it, many of them
preserved in the new convent, to recreate what that
disappeared architectural space could have been.
