Evolución de los espacios agrarios en el municipio de Vallelado mediante el empleo de Sistemas de Información Geográfica (SIG)

Abstract

En el presente trabajo se va a llevar a cabo un estudio sobre la evolución de los espacios agrarios del municipio de Vallelado (Segovia) mediante la síntesis de los distintos datos obtenidos a través del Corine. La principal actividad económica de Vallelado es la agricultura, cuyos principales cultivos son los de secano (cebada, trigo, ajo, etc.) y de regadío (zanahoria, patata, etc.), siendo este último el que más extensión abarca en hectáreas. No obstante, se considera al cultivo de secano como el más importante para el municipio, sin dejar atrás la denominación de origen que tiene el Ajo Blanco de Vallelado. Por otro lado, se hace hincapié al cambio sufrido en la distribución parcelaria de las tierras de cultivo de la localidad, gracias a la creación de la Concentración Parcelaria a finales del siglo XX. Todo esto se ha podido llevar a cabo gracias a la elaboración de mapas y gráficos efectuados a través de los datos del Corine, además de las entrevistas y cuestionarios realizados a los agricultores de la localidad.

In this paper we are going to carry out a study on the evolution of the agricultural areas of the municipality of Vallelado (Segovia) through the synthesis of the different data obtained through the Corine. The main economic activity in Vallelado is agriculture, whose main crops are rain-fed (barley, wheat, garlic...) and irrigated (carrots, potatoes...), the latter being the one which covers the largest area in hectares. However, dry farming is considered to be the most important crop for the municipality, without forgetting the designation of origin of the Ajo Blanco de Vallelado (Vallelado White Garlic). On the other hand, emphasis is placed on the change in the distribution of plots of farmland in the town, thanks to the creation of the land consolidation at the end of the 20th century. All this has been possible thanks to the elaboration of maps and graphs made through the Corine data, as well as the interviews and questionnaires carried out with the local farmers.
