    Resumo
This study represents a step forward in a teaching innovation initiative, carried out by the team author of this proposal, in some Project subjects at the School of Industrial Engineering (EII) of the University of Valladolid (UVa) in which design in the field of the circular economy has been established as a work philosophy. In this case, the experience focuses on the master’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering recently introduced at the EII. This new teaching proposal has a double academic aspect. On the one hand, it aims to consolidate the application of sustainable industrial design criteria and, on the other hand, to promote the need to protect ideas, inventions, with an orientation towards the labour market to achieve results that can be offered to solve social needs. This initiative will represent an important leap forward in the deepening of the concepts of eco-design and eco-innovation and in the search for the singularities of the designs that germinate in our classroom, with the aim of achieving real and objective protection of ideas through industrial property figures. Both actions together will facilitate, in a holistic way, the conception and protection of an own identity in the possible perspective of business entrepreneurship
