La especificidad temporal de la imagen cinematográfica. Una revisión de fuentes.

Abstract

La revisión de algunas de las teorías cinematográficas más importantes permite concluir que en la esencia formal de la imagen cinematográfica, la duración supone una dimensión temporal añadida con respecto a la temporalidad que tiene la imagen sin duración. Esta cualidad se convierte en específica de la imagen cinematográfica ya que permite arrojar luz sobre la norma estética del cine como medio en sus consecuencias expresivas para el creador y de recepción para el espectador de cine. La duración de la imagen es lo que marca la diferencia entre hablar de la representación de un hecho, acontecimiento o vivencia, y hablar de la representación del acontecer de un hecho, algo completamente distinto.

The reappraisal of some of the most important cinematographic theories allows us to conclude that in the formal essence of the cinematographic image, the duration becomes an added temporal dimension with respect to the temporality that the nonduration image has. This quality becomes specific to the cinematographic image since it allows to shed light on the aesthetic norm of cinema as a medium in its expressive consequences for the creator and its reception for the cinema spectator. The duration of the image supposes the difference between speaking of the representation of a fact, event or experience, and speaking of the representation of the occurrence of a fact, something completely different.
