| dc.description.abstract | The Merovingian queens, particularly the most powerful ones, could bring together
situations of collaboration and confrontation with bishops of their respective kingdoms.
In this contribution we will analyse the latter, addressing the different forms of
confrontation that arose and their resolution, but also examining the determinism of
such episodes in strengthening, or possibly weakening, the power of the Merovingian
