Abstract

Solidez y ligereza. Un material pone de relieve sus características al contrastarlo con otros. La geometría de las diferentes fachadas jerarquiza sus percepciones en el entorno urbano. La ligereza de los grandes paños de aluminio perforado (48 viviendas) o el revestimiento de madera (16 viviendas) resalta la solidez del ladrillo negro. La geometría sólida del ladrillo construye una forma nítida en el paisaje urbano. Los diferentes huecos de salones, cocinas y tendederos se agrupan detrás de la cortina de aluminio perforado. El contraste entre esta gran y ligera cortina y la composición de repetitivos y pequeños huecos en los muros de ladrillo crea un juego de escalas adecuado. Todo ello subraya la luminosidad doméstica y articula la transición entre la pequeña escala doméstica del edificio y la gran escala frente al paisaje urbano.

A material highlights its features to compare it with others. The geometry of the different facades categorizes their perceptions in the urban environment. The lightness of the large panels of perforated aluminum (48 houses) or wood paneling (16 houses) highlights the strength of the black brick. The solid geometry of the brick built a clear shape in the urban landscape. Different gaps in living rooms, kitchens and clotheslines are grouped behind the perforated aluminum curtain. The contrast between this large and light curtain and the composition of repetitive and small windows in the brick walls creates a proper game of scales. All this underscores the domestic luminosity and articulates the transition between the small domestic scale of the building and the large scale against the urban landscape.
