El presente trabajo final de grado surge de la necesidad de estudiar uno de los principales agentes de transformación del comercio a nivel mundial como es el ferrocarril. En un panorama geopolítico marcado por la inestabilidad e incertidumbre en las redes de transporte marítimo se hace necesario analizar cuáles han sido y cuáles serán las políticas ferroviarias a nivel europeo y a nivel nacional. Es este contexto donde se ha realizado un repaso de las principales políticas impulsadas por la Comunidad Europea y el Gobierno de España, ambas marcadas por el pilar de la liberalización del sector del ferrocarril, monopolizado históricamente por las compañías estatales de cada país, en pro de una apertura a la iniciativa privada. Tras esto se ha procedido a aportar un análisis del caso particular de la ciudad de Valladolid y el impacto en la trama urbana de la misma que han tenido y tendrán las futuras políticas ferroviarias.
The present final degree project arises from the urge to study one of the main agents of transformation in global trade, the railway. In a geopolitical landscape marked by instability and uncertainty in maritime transport networks, it is necessary to analyze what have been and what will be the railway policies at both european and nacional levels. It is in this context where a review has been conducted of the main policies promoted by the European Community and the Spanish Government, both marked by the liberalization of the railway sector, historically monopolized by state companies in each country, in favor of opening to private initiative. After that, an analysis has been provided of the particular case of Valladolid and the impact on its urban fabric that past and future railway policies have had and will have in future.
