Análisis contrastivo de los resúmenes en inglés y español en artículos publicados en el campo de la epidemiología

Abstract

Although EAP researchers have devoted considerable attention to written texts, less has been paid to the cross-cultural differences in academic writing. This paper presents the results of an investigation on contrastive rhetoric, in which we have assessed the relation between several scientific texts written by Spanish and American scholars. The aim of this research was to compare the similarities and differences both rhetorical and linguistic of two specific genre, i.e., Medical abstracts written in English and Spanish.
