Las artes en el cine vs el cine como arte en la película Medianoche en París

Abstract

Este Trabajo Fin de Grado estudia la cinta Medianoche en París de Woody Allen (2011), centrándose en la presencia de diversas formas de arte como elementos de la puesta en escena de la propia obra para identificar las diferentes manifestaciones artísticas que aparecen y destacar la relevancia de cada una de ellas. Para ello, se ha comparado con otras creaciones del cineasta en las que también aparecen de forma minoritaria el arte pictórico, literario u otros. Los resultados constatan que la literatura y la música son protagonistas indudables en la trama de la película, pero también destaca la arquitectura de París e incluso la cinematografía. Paralelamente, se pretende mostrar que además de la función de entretenimiento propia de la industria del cine, la cinta también cumple con una función cultural creada a través de la experiencial visual y narrativa propuesta por el director Woody Allen.

This Final Degree Project studies the film Midnight in Paris by Woody Allen (2011), focusing on the presence of various art forms as elements of the staging of the work itself to identify the different artistic manifestations that appear and highlight the relevance of each of them. For this purpose, it has been compared with other creations of the filmmaker in which other art forms are also included in a minority way. The results are very clear: literature and music are undoubtedly protagonists in the plot of the film, but also highlights the architecture of Paris and even cinema. At the same time, it is intended to show that, in addition to the entertainment function of the film industry, the film also fulfills a cultural function created through the visual and narrative experience proposed by director Woody Allen.
