Proyectos de V. Rodríguez, J. Sagarvínaga y M. Godoy para la reforma del Colegio en el siglo XVIII: en defensa de V. Rodríguez

Abstract

In this work, the documents are published that clarify the authorship of the restoration carried out at the Colegio de Santa Cruz at the end of the 18th century. The criteria of the different architects involved in this reform are shown: Ventura Rodríguez, who proposed total respect for the main façade of the School, taking a "historicist" judgement, Juan de Sagarvínaga and Manuel Godoy. The latter being the one who planned and built the reform attributed and criticized to Ventura Rodríguez. En este trabajo se publican los documentos que clarifican la autoría de la la restauración llevada a cabo en el Colegio de Santa Cruz a finales del siglo XVIII. Se muestran los criterios de los diferentes arquitectos intervinientes en esta reforma: Ventura Rodríguez, quien proponía un total respeto a la fachada principal del Colegio, tomando un juicio «historicista», Juan de Sagarvínaga y Manuel Godoy. Siendo este último el que proyectó y construyó la reforma atribuida y criticada a Ventura Rodríguez.
