Electrospun polymeric membranes, crucial in industries like water treatment, biomedical engineering, and gas separation, rely on their mechanical properties, including tensile strength, elasticity, and durability, for effectiveness and longevity. Optimal mechanical properties enable those membranes to withstand pressure fluctuations, aggressive chemicals, and various usage cycles, enhancing operational efficiency and sustainability. The tunability of these properties is key to customizing membranes for specific applications. In this regard, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) has proven its efficacy in the nanomechanical characterization of soft materials over the past two decades. This work reviews recent literature on AFM methods to measure mechanical properties in electrospun materials, discussing their potentialities and current applications.es
