La arquitectura industrial en las revistas españolas. 1900-1936

Abstract

Este estudio analiza la colaboración entre arquitectos e ingenieros en la Arquitectura Industrial española entre 1900 y 1936, resaltando cómo el trabajo conjunto entre ambas disciplinas fue esencial para afrontar los retos de la industrialización. A través del examen de las revistas técnicas de la época, se exploran las sinergias profesionales y los intercambios de ideas que permitieron integrar soluciones técnicas innovadoras y propuestas arquitectónicas en fábricas, estaciones e infraestructuras productivas. El análisis revela cómo esta cooperación no solo resolvía cuestiones funcionales y estructurales, sino que también impulsaba un lenguaje arquitectónico moderno. Las publicaciones actuaron como espacios clave de diálogo, mostrando la interdependencia entre arquitectos e ingenieros y su papel determinante en la modernización de la Arquitectura Industrial durante el primer tercio del siglo XX.

This study analyzes the collaboration between architects and engineers in Spanish Industrial Architecture between 1900 and 1936, highlighting how the joint work between both disciplines was essential in addressing the challenges of industrialization. Through the examination of technical journals of the time, the research explores professional synergies and exchanges of ideas that enabled the integration of innovative technical solutions and architectural proposals in factories, stations, and productive infrastructures. The analysis reveals that this cooperation not only resolved functional and structural issues but also fostered a modern architectural language. Publications served as key spaces for dialogue, showcasing the interdependence between architects and engineers and their decisive role in the modernization of Industrial Architecture during the first third of the 20th century
