Iniciativas inteligentes para revitalizar el medio rural. El proyecto SMART RURAL: Pueblos inteligentes en el País Vasco.

Abstract

Las zonas rurales han enfrentado un declive por el envejecimiento de la población, la falta de servicios y de inversión. Sin embargo, en los últimos años han surgido nuevas iniciativas, como los Pueblos Inteligentes, que buscan abordar estos desafíos mediante soluciones innovadoras. En 2020, el Gobierno Vasco lanzó el proyecto SMART RURAL, con el objetivo de transformar las áreas rurales en entornos inteligentes, resilientes y competitivos. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que todas las estrategias comparten un objetivo común: promover el desarrollo de proyectos dirigidos a consolidar la población y estimular el desarrollo de las comunidades rurales con el objetivo de mejorar la calidad de vida de sus habitantes.

Rural areas have faced decline due to an ageing population, a lack of services, and insufficient investment. However, in recent years, new initiatives have emerged, such as Smart Villages, aimed at addressing these challenges through innovative solutions. In 2020, the Basque Government launched the SMART RURAL project, with the goal of transforming rural areas into intelligent, resilient, and competitive environments. The results obtained indicate that all strategies share a common objective: to promote the development of projects aimed at consolidating the population and stimulating the growth of rural communities, ultimately improving the quality of life for their residents.
