dc.description.abstractThis video presents a map of musical topics to illustrate their interrelation, starting from two opposing poles: the sacred and the profane. The framework is set within the four main performance contexts of the eighteenth century: court, church, street, and theatre. Colors indicate areas associated with specific affects or emotional qualities, with warm tones (red) on the far left linked to the profane (passionate), and cool tones (blue) on the far right associated with the sacred (spiritual).es
