Contributos de Carlos Tavares da Silva sobre a ocupação romana-republicana da foz do Sado

Abstract

Carlos Tavares da Silva has built a long career without ever losing the connection to his origin. Co-founder of the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Setúbal, he accomplished several works on the occupations and remains of the ancient communities of the Sado valley and its environs. With this paper, we have tried to describe the works he have done, itself or in collaboration, about the vestiges of the Roman-Republican occupation. This analysis inevitably took us to places like Chibanes, Pedrão, Alcácer do Sal and Castelo dos Mouros. Although the study started a long time ago, the investigation remains in some of them.
