Estratégias de acção e controlo do território. Novas perspectivas sobre Cáceres Viejo (Casas de Millán, Cáceres)

Abstract

After two campaigns of excavations at Cáceres Viejo of Santa Marina with this paper we pretend offer a synthesis of the mains results. We present the archaeological site from a different perspective, exposing the main vestiges, arguments, and the history of the military events that took place in this region. In this way, the person who read this work can conceive his own opinion. Despite that, the geostrategic position of this occupation, as well the evidence of the cultural influence of habitats from the north is something that remains in the mind of the author. In fact, this doesn’t seem undissociated form the type of establishment of this and other settlements that coexist in the reliefs that point the mountain range that precede the Spanish Central System.
