El lobo en Castilla y León: Un debate por la coexistencia

Abstract

El lobo ibérico es un animal emblemático en nuestra sociedad. Hasta este año 2025, el lobo estaba incluido en el Listado de Especies Silvestres en Régimen de Protección Especial (LESPRE) prohibiendo así su caza en todo el territorio español. Una protección que provocó un aumento del 8%, según el Censo Regional del Lobo Ibérico publicado por la Junta de Castilla y León en noviembre de 2024. Esto ha provocado consecuencias como la pérdida de más de 6000 cabezas de ganado en las ganaderías de la comunidad. En 2025, el Congreso ha aprobado una enmienda que permite el control de la especie para lograr una coexistencia. Este reportaje trata de mostrar la situación actual del animal en la comunidad, mostrando los testimonios de todas las partes implicadas en el debate que hay en cuanto a la gestión o situación del lobo ibérico en la comunidad de Castilla y León.

The Iberian wolf is an emblematic animal in our society. Until this year 2025, the wolf was included in the List of Wild Species under Special Protection Regime (LESPRE) thus prohibiting its hunting throughout the Spanish territory. This protection caused an increase of 8%, according to the Regional Census of the Iberian wolf published by the Junta de Castilla y León in November 2024. This has caused consequences such as the loss of more than 6,000 head of livestock in the community's livestock farms. In 2025, the Congress has approved an amendment that allows the control of the species to achieve coexistence. This report tries to show the current situation of the animal in the community, showing the testimonies of all the parties involved in the debate about the management or situation of the Iberian wolf in the community of Castilla y León.
