Nuevas formas del género policiaco en la novela española contemporánea

Abstract

A partir de la última década del siglo XX ha proliferado en España una narrativa de temática policiaca que ha llevado a la crítica a hablar de una nueva forma de tratamiento del género. Dicha corriente ha sido actualizada con una serie de rasgos que subvierten la novela policiaca tradicional. En este trabajo se analizarán, en primer lugar, los precedentes de la temática policiaca que se pueden encontrar en la literatura británica y estadounidense, desde Conan Doyle, pasando por Raymond Chandler, hasta la literatura criminal española del siglo XX y su evolución hasta nuestros días. A continuación, se mostrarán diferentes casos de novela de temática criminal española reciente, poniendo en evidencia que no hablamos de casos puntuales, sino de una tendencia bastante generalizada. Por último, se ha realizado un estudio pormenorizado de las novelas Ritos de muerte (1996), de Alicia Giménez Bartlett, El alquimista impaciente (2000), de Lorenzo Silva, y la más reciente, El problema final (2023), de Arturo Pérez-Reverte, exponiendo los puntos que tienen en común y los aspectos en los que se diferencian dichos relatos, así como aquellos elementos que en ellas transgreden el modelo de la novela policiaca clásica.

Since the last decade of the twentieth century, there has been a proliferation of detective fiction in Spain that has led critics to speak of a new form of treatment of the genre. This current has been updated with a series of features that subvert the traditional detective novel. In this paper we will first analyze the precedents of the crime theme that can be found in British and American literature, from Conan Doyle, through Raymond Chandler, to the Spanish crime literature of the twentieth century and its evolution to the present day. Then, different cases of recent Spanish crime novels will be shown, highlighting that we are not talking about specific cases, but about a fairly generalized trend. Finally, a detailed study has been made of the novels Ritos de muerte (1996), by Alicia Giménez Bartlett, El alquimista impaciente (2000), by Lorenzo Silva, and the most recent, El problema final (2023), by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, exposing the points they have in common and the aspects in which they differ, as well as those elements that transgress the model of the classic crime novel.
