El tratamiento del multilingüismo en traducción audiovisual: el caso del cine de animación infantil y juvenil

Abstract

El presente artículo explora las estrategias de traducción y las combinaciones de lenguas utilizadas en la traducción del fenómeno del multilingüismo en películas de animación infantil y juvenil. Después de algunas reflexiones teóricas generales sobre el cine de animación infantil y juvenil así como sobre el estado de la investigación sobre su traducción, se presenta el análisis descriptivo de un corpus de varias escenas originales con presencia de fenómenos de multilingüismo extraídas de películas de animación, que han sido estrenadas recientemente con éxito. A partir de este análisis, se realiza un estudio comparativo de su traducción a los contextos meta alemán, francés, español, español hispanoamericano y portugués, según el caso, con el objetivo de definir los fenómenos, procedimientos de traducción y adaptaciones lingüísticas más habituales utilizados en el tratamiento del multilingüismo en las películas dirigidas a este sector de edad.

The treatment of multilingualism in audiovisual translation: the case of animated films for children and young people This article explores the translation strategies and language combinations used in translating the phenomenon of multilingualism in animated films for children and young people. First, some general theoretical considerations on animated films for this audience are presented, as well as some notes on the state of research of the translation of this type of films. The analysis will be followed by a descriptive study of a corpus of several original scenes showing multilingualism phenomena, taken from animated films with recent box office success. Subsequently, a comparative study of its translation into the German, French, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, and Portuguese target contexts, according to the case, will be carried out with the aim of defining the most common phenomena, translation procedures and linguistic adaptations used in dealing with multilingualism in films aimed at this age group.
