Habilidades matemáticas para escolares de 4-8 años: Herramientas para evaluar riesgo de dificultades de aprendizaje

Abstract

Las dificultades en el aprendizaje de la matemática pueden identificarse desde edades tempranas si se detectan ciertos indicadores en el desarrollo de habilidades básicas. Este estudio consistió en realizar una revisión bibliográfica centrada en investigaciones sobre evaluación de habilidades matemáticas en niños de 4 a 8 años. Se propuso identificar las habilidades significativas y las herramientas que permiten detectar el riesgo de dificultades. Se encontraron ocho habilidades clave. Aunque se reconoce su importancia, no hay consenso sobre los mejores predictores más significativos del rendimiento matemático posterior. Los hallazgos permiten orientar a docentes y equipos de apoyo en la elección de indicadores y estrategias de intervención temprana.

Difficulties in learning mathematics can be identified from an early age if certain indicators are detected in the development of basic skills. This study consisted of conducting a bibliographic review focused on research on the evaluation of mathematical skills in children from 4 to 8 years old. It was proposed to identify the significant skills and tools that allow detecting the risk of difficulties. Eight key skills were found. Although its importance is recognized, there is no consensus on the best and most significant predictors of subsequent mathematics performance. The findings allow teachers and support teams to be guided in choosing early intervention indicators and strategies.
